Filipinos haven't recovered yet from the ravages brought about by typhoon Ondoy but here comes another test for them to face.

[Typhoon Pepeng's (Parma) satellite image inside the country's area of responsibility]Facts && Figures:
- Location of Center (as of 4:00 a.m.): 260 km Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan
- Coordinates: 16.6°N, 123.6°E
- Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near center and gustiness of up to 210 kph
- Movement: Northwest at 17 kph
- Forecast Positions/Outlook: [Saturday evening:expected to make landfall over Northern Cagayan; Sunday morning: 150 kms Southwest of Basco, Batanes; Monday morning: 290 kms West Northwest of Basco, Batanes]
Typhoon Pepeng had just left Bicol Region under state of misery with heavily flooded roads, canceled flights and trips, stranded passengers, and countless damages to property and lives yesterday night, October 2.
A miracle it might sound but 'Pepeng' has changed its course late last night and was reported to be heading to Cagayan instead of the Isabela-Aurora area. Manila won't experience that much of a hit with the typhoon moving farther from the Metropolitan.
Twin-Typhoon MelorTyphoon 'Pepeng' churned in the Pacific Ocean with its equivalent-to-major hurricane status-twin typhoon, Melor. But praise God that Super Typhoon Melor is farther out to sea, and on a path farther north into southern Japan by early next week, and won't be affecting our country anymore. This storm currently has winds near 130 mph that would rank as a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir Simpson scale.
[Twin typhoons (Parma & Melor) head towards SE Asia on October 2, 2009.]
I think that Philippines should now be called the "Typhoon Capital of the World" just for the fact that it's hit by more than ten super typhoons, if not, typhoons that are too much destructive and violent for the humble Filipinos.
I know that these phenomena have some hidden agenda -not just to take revenge but to leave a message to humans. I know that you know what I'm talking about. Mother Nature is sending its strongest calamities to beat us down, to disable our riches and capabilities so that we can no longer hurt her anymore. And if I were her, I'd do the same thing. She knows best. It's her mission to protect the planet & to preserve its resources, but it's also our obligation to take care of the only place we call home.
