Whew! I'm glad it's morning once again. What happened the night before were all just scary memories. Now, I would have to think of other things - other important things.
My tito woke me up. We have to be early so I could arrive on time, and to prevent those morning traffic jams in Manila. I felt bashful when I saw my tito trying to prepare my breakfast. I remembered my dad in him. Well, it wouldn't be much of a surprise 'cause they're brothers.
Soon, I hurriedly took a bath - not the usual type of bath I'm taking in my hometown 'cause we would be late if I'd do so; got dressed, then drove off to Taft. While on the road, I can say that I'm having the taste of Manila life. Seeing those sky-high buildings, being under some footbridges, in the wide highways and intersections of different places, really became a time of discovery and adventure for me. Some of the places we passed by were some famous landmarks which I just usually see on TV like the huge government departments, some coliseums, parks, entertainment establishments, and many others.
Before heading straight to my test center, we stopped at Baclaran. My tito and I prayed for my successful quest. Afterwhich, we continued along. At about 7:30 a.m., we arrived Taft. There was a line - a really long line, somehow 'causing traffic in the nearby road. That's when I realized how busy Manila was. I was met by my classmates, Charm and Franklyn. People, people, different faces, with different styles, different physiques - those were the things which caught my attention as I entered the campus. It was at that point that I realized how diverse people were. Some were foreigners, most of them, of the Chinese-blood. I've heard various languages. It felt weird. But eventhough I have these things disturbing my mind, my focus was the exam. We headed already to our contest rooms, and in there we stayed for almost 4 hours to take the test.
The exam was fine. I sure hope I could pass 'cause if not, it'll be one event in my life that I'll totally regret. It was lunch time already. Franklyn was fetched by her mother, and Charm by her brother. And me? Well, I never thought I have to wait for 2 hours before my tito fetch me. While alone, I stayed at the Gate A of DLSU. It was obvious 'cause there was a large sign which read 'GATE A'.*giggles*
There was also an examination scheduled in the afternoon so more students arrived - students who'll make me hard to convince that they're pretty much on the same year as I'm on. I've looked at more people; perhaps stared at them. It became my past time having to wait for almost 2 hours. It was quite amusing. When my stomach grumbled, I ordered LARGE fries & LARGE coke at McDonald's. Good thing it was just a few meters away from the campus.
And yes, I waited there from 12:30 til 2:30 p.m. all alone. All I could do was listen to the rushing LRT above the road I'm on, look at the similar looking cars with some weird ones passing by me, read the dress code of La Salle posted on a tarpauline outside the gate, and breathe the suffocating air of the busy Manila streets. I wasn't bored knowing that I'm stranger in a new place. There are lots more things to look forward to. Who knows, maybe the action's just around the corner...
